A cosmopolitan journey in artistic creation for young people

L’œil du monde is a slightly crazy dream dreamt up by MeMo to bring together 11 other children’s publishers from all over the world and have them adopted by libraries.

Since the spring of 2022, this dream has become a reality, and the L’œil du Monde association has come to life to showcase the diversity and vitality of artistic publishing around the world, and above all to open up the world to thousands of children through these illustrated books. Launched at Le Lieu Unique in Nantes in spring 2023 with a festival packed with meetings, exhibitions and workshops, L’œil du Monde is now travelling the world to continue its work of weaving links and opening up interculturality.

The momentum is set to continue with future editions in Mexico and Korea, while in Nantes, the Tissé Métisse documentary collection, a library focusing on interculturality, will bring together a rich collection of children’s books from elsewhere.
