The professional day Editing for young people in times of standardization and withdrawal; the joyful audacity of interculturality! brought together at the Lieu Unique in Nantes 27 speakers, publishers from all over the world, librarians, artists and representatives of associations around 6 round tables.
300 people from the book industry (authors, publishers, librarians, booksellers, mediators) participated in this day.

70 original illustrations rubbed shoulders with children’s creations produced before the festival thanks to the partnership between 40 libraries in the Pays de la Loire region and 12 independent publishing houses. The exhibition was enriched over the days with the productions from the workshops, giving everyone the opportunity to offer what they had just created for others to see. 60 guided exhibition tours adapted to different audiences allowed schoolchildren, families and even toddlers to discover the exhibition in a fun way.
TO DO
With its 134 workshops, we can say that the festival gave a special place to “doing”. 43 artists thus offered children – and big children – the chance to create using a variety of techniques. Screen printing, engraving, typography, drawing, painting, inks, cut-out paper, stamps, normograph, stencils, embroidery, book shaping… so many techniques to experiment with and ways to express yourself. These workshops, in which nearly 2,000 people took part, gave us beautiful moments of transmission, joy, sharing, and satisfaction in seeing the printed image emerge, then exhibiting or leaving with your “Toto head” in typographic characters or your screen-printed fanzine.
read and listen
A place for exhibitions, workshops and also reading! Books were everywhere, in the bookstore run by the Enfants Terribles, on the tables, near the deckchairs, even inviting themselves onto the cushions printed for the occasion with illustrations taken from the albums of the guest publishing houses. The place for stories welcomed readers, adults and children, sometimes seated, but often lying down for solitary or shared readings. Books also for the ears, in the individual or collective sound booths to listen to in the original language or translated into French.
17 classes or more than 500 students from kindergarten to primary school, 9 leisure centers and 10 specific groups came to the festival to discover the exhibition and take part in workshops.
Before the festival, 336 cultural activities were carried out in libraries between 2022 and 2023. Exhibitions, workshops, readings, shows, conferences, screenings and meetings had reached nearly 15,000 children.
